Well, she didn't spot a troll, but my wife spotted this recipe some time ago in
the NY Times....Super Bowl Sunday is coming & this is a great food to have
ready.

Cabbage a la Russe

3 cups finely shredded white cabbage
2 3/4 tsp sugar
salt & freshly ground pepper to taste
cayenne pepper to taste
12 prunes
1/2 green pepper, cut in strips
1 cup horseradish cream dressing

Soak cabbage in ice water for 30 minutes & drain. Add sugar to cabbage & toss.
Season with salt, pepper, cayenne, & toss again. Plump the prunes in very hot
water, remove the pits. Cut in narrow strips and mix thoroughly with the
cabbage, adding the green pepper at the same time. Mix with horseradish
dressing. Chill. Serve in crisp lettuce cups (actually, a plate w/o lettuce
works fine <grin>).

Horseradish Cream Dressing

3/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
salt & freshly ground pepper to taste
3 tbp grated horseradish
1 1/2 tsp finely chopped shallot (or onion)

Beat cream until very stiff, & then gradually beat in the wine vinegar. When
the mixture has the consistency of mayo, add the salt & pepper. Fold in the
horseradish & shallot.
